It adapts and integrates SEPA an empirically-validated HIV prevention intervention for younger Hispanic women, and is complemented with the National Institute of Aging's Go4Life, an evidence-based physical activity/exercise program to prevent age-related health issues ActuaYa is the first age-tailored, culturally appropriate, empirically adapted and theoretically-based HIV prevention and health promotion intervention for OHW, making it the first HIV prevention intervention to promote OHW's health promotion and wellness. The primary aim of the proposed project is to determine the efficacy of ActuaYa compared to a delayed intervention control group to increase HIV prevention behaviors and to increase health promotion and wellness among OHW. We hypothesize that ActuaYa participants at 3- and 6-month follow-ups will have more favorable HIV prevention behaviors, health promotion, and wellness outcomes than the delayed intervention control group, and these improvements will be sustained at 12 months.
