"Big Data Analytics for Diagnosis and Prediction of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) at Critical Care Units at the University of Miami Hospital (UMH)”, Mary Hooshmand, PhD, (Co-Principal Investigator with Dr. Ramin Moghaddass)

Central line-associated bloodstream infections are one of the leading causes of death in the USA and are associated with increased morbidity, mortality, and health care costs.

This study aims to create a case-control database for CLABSI at University of Miami Hospital by consolidating information from four databases that are part of the hospital information systems. Multivariate longitudinal analysis will be conducted to identify predictors and mitigation measures of CLABSI. This ongoing study is funded by a Collaborative Research Exchange Forum (CREF) of the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies and the College of Engineering.
