"Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Cardiovascular Health of Cannabis Users", Denise C. Vidot, PhD, PI

Recreational and medicinal cannabis use has quickly become part of the behavioral, sociological, and cultural landscape of the United States; yet, there is a significant gap in knowledge examining the physical health effects of cannabis use.

The purpose of this study is to identify differences between cannabis users and non-users across: 1) cardiorespiratory fitness and 2) cardiovascular disease risk via objective and subjective measurements. After initial assessment, possible dose-response associations and interactions between measured variables within the cannabis user group will be explored. This study is funded by the University of Miami Provost Research Award.
