"Nutritional Patterns among Current and Past Cannabis Users across the Past Decade", Denise C. Vidot, PhD, PI

Anecdotally, cannabis use has been associated with increased carbohydrate consumption; however, there is limited data illustrating the nutritional status and dietary intake of cannabis users.

The aims of this epidemiological population-based study are to: 1) describe the nutritional status of past and current cannabis users via biological measurement of vitamins, calcium, folate, iron and potassium; 2) explore the dietary intake of past and current cannabis users via detailed daily dietary intake interview data; and 3) determine differences between past and current cannabis users with respect to meeting national dietary guidelines. Population-based data are from the 2001-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys. This study is ongoing.
