"The Learning Experiences of Nursing and Health Studies Students Involved in International Exchange Programs", Johis Ortega, PhD, PI

The purpose of this study is to understand the nature and quality of the learning experiences of nursing and health studies students who engage in international exchange programs.

Presently, the School of Nursing and Health Studies has an active student exchange program involving both University of Miami students traveling abroad and the hosting of students from various countries. At the conclusion of the exchange program students are given the option of completing a written evaluation of the program in English or Spanish. Students are also offered the opportunity to participate in a group exit interview with program staff. Knowledge gained about students’ experiences will be used to improve programs at the University of Miami and other institutions. A manuscript was published in the Nursing Education Perspectives.
