Become a Master’s Prepared Acute Care Nurse Practitioner!

The University of Miami Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program prepares registered nurses to lead the delivery of complex care while treating acutely and critically ill patients across the continuum of acute care services.

Through rigorous coursework and clinical experiences guided by distinguished faculty, students develop advanced clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and expertise in evidence-based practice. The program emphasizes holistic patient care and a collaborative, interprofessional approach, with clinical experiences alongside acute care nurse practitioners, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Graduates are prepared to make independent and collaborative clinical decisions, apply research findings to practice, and improve patient outcomes. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the adult-gerontology acute care specialty certification examinations offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
