Financial Aid and Community Scholarships

To strengthen the nursing community, School of Nursing and Health Studies’ (SONHS) Dean Hudson Santos has established the Dean’s Academic Health Center Partners Scholarship.

Six $10,000 scholarships are available for qualified candidates who are accepted to a SONHS B.S.N. - D.N.P., M.S.N. - D.N.P. or M.S.L. + D.N.P. program (part-time or full-time) beginning Fall 2025 or Spring 2026, and who are employed by health systems who have affiliation
agreements in place with SONHS.

The Gertrude E. Skelly Charitable Foundation has made an award of $15,000 in memory of Miss Gertrude E. Skelly to be used for emergency funds for University of Miami nursing students to ensure the next generation of nurses can be trained and developed into life-saving health professionals. Potential uses for funds may include, but are not limited to, books or equipment required for class, transportation emergencies, child care, food, temporary assistance with unanticipated housing cost shortfalls and/or moving costs, student fees or tuition, medical care, travel to and from Miami in case of family emergency, and any funds required in response to evacuating from or damage done to property and belongings by disasters such as hurricanes.
