Become a Master’s Prepared Family Nurse Practitioner!

The University of Miami Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program prepares registered nurses to lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based primary care across the lifespan, including management of complex health conditions and patient needs. Students develop advanced clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience through rigorous coursework and extensive clinical training.

Classes are taught by the University of Miami's distinguished faculty, who are active clinicians and experts in advanced practice nursing. Their real-world experience provides students with a scientific, evidence-based, patient-centered education that prepares graduates to make independent and collaborative clinical decisions, apply research to practice, and improve patient outcomes.

Graduates are eligible to take a national certification examination in the FNP specialty area offered by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Career outcomes include working as a nurse practitioner in primary care practices, urgent care clinics, community health settings, and government or school environments.
