The University of Miami Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) Post-Master’s Certificate program prepares registered nurses to lead the delivery of high quality, complex primary care across diverse healthcare settings. Through rigorous coursework, extensive clinical experiences, and a practice-focused curriculum, students develop the clinical, leadership, and systems-thinking skills needed to improve patient outcomes, drive innovation, and lead the delivery of complex primary care across diverse healthcare settings.

Guided by distinguished faculty, AGPCNP students integrate scientific evidence, advanced clinical expertise, and patient-centered care to assess, diagnose, and manage health and illness across the adult lifespan. Nurses who complete the Certificate program are prepared to make independent and collaborative decisions, provide evidence-based sound clinical judgments, and advance their profession through the implementation of research findings in practice aimed at improving patient outcomes.

They are eligible to take a national certification examination in the adult-gerontology primary care specialty area offered by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
