The University of Miami Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares registered nurses to provide expert, evidence-based primary care and lead the delivery of high-quality, complex healthcare across diverse patient populations. Through rigorous coursework, extensive clinical experiences, and a scholarly practice-focused curriculum, students develop advanced clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and systems-thinking skills to improve patient outcomes, and shape the future of healthcare.

Taught by distinguished faculty, nurses who complete the Certificate program are prepared to make independent and collaborative decisions, provide evidence-based sound clinical judgments, and advance their profession through implementation of research findings in practice aimed at improving patient outcomes. They also are eligible to take a national certification examination in the FNP specialty area offered by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
